Summary

Nestled in a hard wood rain forest with cascading cliffs, Mizata Point Resort is a wave rich, eco-village, just 90 minutes from the El Salvador International Airport.

Magical Waves

Mizata enjoys waves when all other breaks are flat, with 340 days of swell each year. There are 5 Surf Breaks within Walking Distance and a beginner surf break just 5 minutes down the beach. If you are looking for the most consistent and uncrowded wave in El Salvador. This is it.

SWELL
Mizata Point

This powerful right hander sits at the mouth of the river. Surfable from waist high to well overhead. Best at low to medium tides, with mild reverb during high tide. Fast punchy drops, with large open faces that go for 200 meters. Get covered up on larger days with short barrel sections. Avoid the tempting left as it dumps into shallow rocks at low tide. In front of the resort.

A-Frame

One of the few sick left breaks in El Salvador, Tweeners, is an epic rock bottom A-Frame that peels both ways. It works well at Medium and High Tide and holds size, with fun barrel sections during overhead swell. In front of the resort.

Beach Breaks

Thumping beach breaks work well during high tide with overhead barrel sections, rights and lefts. Take caution at low tide to avoid exposed rocks and a mild rip. 2 minute walk from resort.

The Slab

A shallow reef break that requires larger swell over 6 feet. A technical wave for experienced surfers that want to get pitted. 5 minute walk from resort.

El Dorado Beach

Mellow beach break, perfect for beginner surfers. Also, the location for surf school and surf camp. 5 Minute drive from the resort.

Untouched Breaks

For adventurous surfers interested in surfing with no crowd, we provide boat service to untouched waves.

Clean Water

El Tunco and El Zonte suffer from sewage contamination after rain. Mizata ocean water always tests clean for pesticides, heavy metals and sewage.

Warm Water | Warm Air

Mizata average annual water temp is 86 degrees (Low 80 degrees, High 87 degrees). Average air temperature is a perfect 82 degrees (Low 71 degrees, High 90 degrees) making it the perfect climate for outdoor activities.

Activities & Adventure

Mizata Point Resort is only 90 Minutes from the El Salvador International Airport. Nestled in a hard wood rain forest. With cascading, prehistoric cliffs that surround the village, creating an eco-village-sanctuary for wild-life, natives and guests.

Umami & Cantina

Award Winning on-site restaurant, Umami & Cantina, is a farm to table concept, with mouth-watering dishes that are both savory, healthy and satisfying. The fusion dishes celebrate the essence of the fifth taste group, Umami.

Lost Surfboard Magic Quiver

Traveling with surfboards can be a costly head ache. The challenge is that most surf resorts have a small quiver of beat up yellow boards. House of Surf is sponsored, internationally, by Lost Surfboards.

Surf Camp & Coaching

The House of Surf Camp & Coaching is run by Bamba Diaz, an El Salvadoran hero and surf legend. Bamba is a pro-surfer and surfed on the El Salvadoran National team. Bamba is a ISA Certified Instructor and solid human being. All instructors are ISA certified and follow a carefully developed program with a Stand-Up Guarantee.

Eco-Village

Mizata Point Resort was built in 2012 as a sustainable resort, using grey water systems, native plant species, natural septic for water filtration and local materials. The design is low impact, to preserve views and celebrate the incredible qualities of the environment.
